About Me: Hey bowlers, John Sixkiller here...aka Sixcranker. Yes, Sixkiller is my real last name. I get asked that all the time! LOL I am 1/4 Cherokee Indian and that is the origin of my name.
Been bowling since I was 5 years old. I never really had any coaching so I just emulated different styles I saw on tv. Naturally me being a big guy, I emulated guys like Mark Roth, Amletto Monacelli and of course, my all time fav, PDW!!
Wasn't until this summer of 06 that I decided to get some real lessons. Since I moved to Oklahoma City, I was in direct vicinity of of some good coaches. Naturally, I chose Anne Marie Duggan. After 6 grueling weeks of getting lessons from her, I actually had sank in all the things she had taught me and it finally meshed together. I am happy to say I am a more accurate and consistent bowler thanks to her. I also have to give a lot of credit to my mother, God rest her soul. She passed away on Oct. 29 after a 5 1/2 month bout with lung cancer that had spread to her heart. She was a big fan of Anne Marie Duggan and I think she had a big part in getting me to go to her for lessons. She did actually get to meet Anne Marie a couple of times and she sure did cherish those meetings. I do dedicate my life and my bowling to my mother, Marlene "Pepper" Sixkiller, my bowling Angel!!
Music: I have unbound tastes in music. Rock to country, classical to hip hop. I have many types of music that I love, especially on the iPod! But, my two favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
Movies: Action, comedy, horror, sci fi, suspense, even a couple of chick flicks is cool. I just love movies in general. Watch movies way more than tv...a home theater system is a must and that is what I have. 65" JVC TV, Onkyo HT790 7.1 Surround Sound Home theater system, with monster cable hookups and hdmi, iPod and XM included!! LOVE IT!!!
TV: The Shield, American Chopper (OCC), Miami Ink, Inked, Monster Garage, King of the Hill, South Park, Nip/Tuck (pretty cool show!) and of course, PBA BOWLING!!
Books: Grisham, Dan Brown, Koontz, Louis Lamour, Chuck Palahniuk, King, Patterson, just to name a few.
Likes: Music, food (steak, shrimp, lobster, sushi, damn near anything seafood actually!), Fat Tire Amber Ale Beer, all three Patron tequilas, traveling, bowling, computer games, concerts and live music venues (Austin, TX is the best place for live music!) so many things that I like. Hard to list them all.
Dislikes: Slow drivers on the highway (bad case of road rage...one thing my mother left me! LOL). Fake people, lazy people, people who blame bowling equipment, lanes, others instead of themselves for their faults in bowling and in life actually.
Hobbies: Bowling, computers (building and fixing), modifying/adding things to my Mustangs, websites such as ballreviews.com, this website now as well. Jetskiing in the summer, mountain biking......etc. Too many things to list.
Vices: Tattoos, modifying/adding things to my Mustangs, bowling equipment, expensive restaurants, LAS VEGAS!! Some gambling such as blackjack, horse racing, three card poker, Texas Hold Em.
Virtues: Honest, hard working, straight to the point but to a fault of being too blunt sometimes. Compassionate and loyal to friends, family and loved ones. More than willing to help others, because I have received help from others too....I know what it is like to come from nothing and have nothing.
Heroes: Heroes that transcend everything would be God, my mother and my wife. Also the brave men and women that fight for our country to help keep it safe.
Bowling heroes-PDW of course. Big fan of Norm Duke, Wes Malott, Tommy Jones among others. Have met several at the Tulsa Open in the 05/06 season. Ciccone, Jurek, Kent, among others were very friendly and engaging to all the bowling fans and me.....thanks guys!
And to those people who rise above all odds, trials and tribulations, and negativity, you are all heroes.
